4 PM WEATHER 7-24-26 INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Warmer more humid air will return by the end of the weekend. Rain storm chances are coming back too.  FRIDAY NIGHT: Variably cloudy.  Lows from the upper 50s northeast of Indy to the 60s from the city to the southwest. A spotty shower somewh ere can’t be ruled out. SATURDAY: A mix of sun cloud with warmer temperatures in the 80s.  A few stray AM showers or storms are possible, especially across southwest Indiana.  Most of us will remain dry during the day.  Overall, things look good for the Pennzoil 250 at IMS and Brickyard 400 qualifying. The Indy Eleven match in the evening looks pretty good too. Elevated wildfire smoke will become more noticeable Saturday and that will lead to hazy conditions once again. Some of this will linger into Sunday too. SATURDAY NIGHT:  Fair skies with lows in the upper 60s to around 70. SUNDAY:   Variably cloudy, warm, more humid. Highs will be around 90 with higher heat indices.  Conditions look OK for the Brickyard 400 at IMS, but it will be toasty.  There is a chance for a few late showers storms but most of the day is looking good.   SUNDAY NIGHT MONDAY: There are some signs a storm complex (or two) could rumble in from the northwest at some point, but timing/placement remains very uncertain.   The Storm Prediction Center already has parts of Indiana in an outlook for strong to severe storms.   Summer storm complexes have the potential to produce damaging wind gusts, heavy rain, and frequent lightning. Highs on Monday look like they have the potential to get into the lower 90s with heat indices that could push into the 100s… if storms and clouds don’t disrupt daytime heating.  TUESDAY-FRIDAY: The upper level pattern will be conducive to additional shower storm chances, but it’s hard to pinpoint details/timing so far in advance.
