That’s because, organizers said, passes for The 2026 TIAA Philadelphia Marathon, the Dietz Watson Philadelphia Half Marathon and all the challenges sold out as of Friday morning. It’s the fastest the passes have sold out in the 33 year history of the marathon, organizers said. “It is inspiring to see the excitement and appreciation for the Philadelphia Marathon Weekend grow each year,” said David G. Wilson, Deputy Managing Director for General Services, City of Philadelphia in a statement. “The continued year‑over‑year growth of this event is a testament to the hard work of the City of Philadelphia team, our dedicated sponsors, partners, and volunteers who contribute to creating an unforgettable, world-class race experience. We are thrilled to be in this position and look forward to welcoming tens of thousands of runners to our historic city in this celebratory year, for a weekend filled with racing, community, and positive energy.” The announcement comes after organizers made an additional 3,000 spots available for the events, that will be held November 20 to 22, 2026, on the Ben Franklin Parkway after seeing significant demand for passes. Organizers said this year’s passes sold out “approximately four weeks earlier than last year’s sell-out date and one month earlier than last year’s sell-out date for the Dietz Watson Philadelphia Half Marathon.” “It is an honor that Philadelphia Marathon Weekend remains a top choice for runners,” said Kathleen Titus, Race Director for Philadelphia Marathon Weekend in a statement. “This weekend is not only a staple for runners in the region, but has also become a coveted race weekend worldwide, drawing participants from across the globe. We cannot wait to welcome participants and spectators to experience an exceptional race weekend and immerse themselves in the history and culture of this city.” Organizers expect participants from approximately 60 countries and all across America to take part in the upcoming marathon weekend.
