A new St. Pete Polls survey suggests the race for Tallahassee mayor remains highly competitive, with former state Sen. Loranne Ausley holding a narrow lead over City Commissioner Jeremy Matlow. The poll results were first reported by FloridaPolitics.com. In a four-candidate ballot test, Ausley received 29% support, while Matlow followed closely at 24%, a five-point difference that falls within the poll’s stated margin of error. Attorney Daryl Parks placed third at 14%, and businessman Michael Shawn Foust trailed with 3%. The survey also found that 31% of likely voters remain undecided, leaving the contest far from settled as the campaign continues. The poll highlights a pronounced generational divide among voters. Matlow leads among voters younger than 30, while Ausley enjoys overwhelming support among the oldest voters. Nearly 47% of respondents age 70 and older backed Ausley, giving her a commanding advantage with that demographic.
