An 18-year-old driver is facing multiple charges, including driving under the influence, after a police pursuit ended with a crash that injured eight people and sent a sedan plowing into a San Francisco Audi dealership Sunday night. San Francisco police said officers initially spotted a pickup tr uck driving erratically. When officers attempted to pull it over, the driver fled, nearly hitting a patrol car. The truck then struck a sedan, forcing the car into a fire hydrant and through the front window of the Audi dealership at 14th Street and Van Ness Avenue. Witnesses said the truck also hit an Audi parked across the street, causing collateral damage. The crash injured eight people in total. One person in the sedan was transported to a hospital but is expected to survive. Authorities arrested the 18-year-old driver of the truck, identified as Ulloa Vasquez of Oakland, on suspicion of fleeing from officers, injuring others, driving under the influence of alcohol and marijuana and child endangerment. Police said the truck was packed with young people ranging in age from 13 to 24. The child endangerment charge stems from a 13-year-old being among the truck’s six passengers. Another passenger in the suspect vehicle was also arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest and battery against a police officer. Cleanup is now underway to tow the damaged vehicles, replace the sheared fire hydrant, and install new glass at the boarded-up dealership.
