A pedestrian was taken to the hospital in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle, just after another vehicle crashed into their shopping cart on Saturday, police said. The police department said the crash happened just before 11 a.m. in the area of Leigh Avenue and Patio Drive. According to officers, a vehicle crashed with the pedestrian’s shopping cart; when the vehicle stopped, a second vehicle struck the pedestrian. Authorities said the pedestrian was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but medical staff advised the pedestrian is expected to survive through the night.
