Police are investigating after they said a 30-year-old man was found dead in a retention pond outside of Christiana Hospital in Newark, Delaware. According to Delaware State Police, around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026, troopers responded to Christiana Hospital, located at 4755 Ogletown S tanton Road in Newark, after receiving a report of a deceased person who was found in a retention pond at the entrance of the hospital.  When troopers arrived, police said they found a 30-year-old man from Wilmington, Delaware, dead in shallow water at the edge of the pond. Police said that due to the suspicious nature of the incident, the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit took over the investigation. The victim was turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science to determine the cause and manner of death, according to police.
