Philadelphia police are investigating two separate overnight violent incidents that left one man in critical condition and a teenager injured. Police said the first incident happened around 11:46 p.m. on Friday, July 17, 2026. Officers responded to West Seymour Street after receiving a report of a person with a gun after a woman called 911 to report that her son had been shot. Responding officers found a 17-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to his left hand and secured the shooting scene in a second-floor bedroom, according to police. Officers took the boy to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. No arrests have been made, and no motive has been determined in this incident.
