(File photo courtesy of Nebraska Athletics)LINCOLN–(KOLN/KFOR July 15)–One part of the lawsuit filed by former Nebraska football coach Scott Frost against the University of Nebraska was dismissed earlier this week, but the decision leaves the dispute mov ing forward. The order, filed Monday, denied the university’s request to throw out the case entirely. Frost alleges the university stopped payments owed for 2025 and 2026 under his employment contract. Frost was fired without cause in 2022. In March, the university made a motion for the lawsuit to be dismissed. However, the court declined to issue the declaratory judgment – a court order to define his legal rights or status – Frost sought and dismissed that count without prejudice. The court ruled dismissing the first count would not end the dispute because the remaining breach-of-contract claim will require the court to interpret the same contract language.
