A pedestrian died and three people in a car were taken to the hospital following a collision in San Jose Tuesday night, according to police. The collision happened just before 9 p.m. in the area of Capitol Expressway and Copperfield Drive, police said. Citing a preliminary investigation, polic e said a man behind the wheel of a Tesla sedan was heading eastbound on Capitol Expressway, just east of Copperfield Drive, when he hit a man who was crossing Capitol Expressway outside of any marked crosswalk. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. His identity will be released by the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office. The driver and two juveniles in the Tesla were later taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The driver was cooperative with investigators, according to police.
