About 100 homes remained without water in Norristown on Wednesday morning, officials said, as crews worked to repair a broken water main. Overnight crews were working at the intersection of DeKalb and Elm streets in Norristown in an effort to repair a water main that, officials with Pennsylvania American Water said, broke sometime between 2 and 3 p.m. on Tuesday. The main, officials said, impacted about 94 homes in that area. As crews worked overnight to repair the damage, parts of northbound Route 202 near the intersection were closed to traffic due to the ongoing work. As of about 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, officials had not said when they expected the work to be completed or when water would be restored to the homes impacted by the water main break.
