Tonight will be quiet with mostly clear skies and comfortable temperatures dropping into the upper 60s. It’s one last refreshing night before the heat settles back in. Wednesday marks a noticeable change in our weather pattern. A strong area of high pressure will build across the Southeas t, bringing plenty of sunshine and dry conditions. Afternoon temperatures will climb back to the low 90s, and that’s just the beginning of a warming trend that lasts through the weekend. By Thursday and Friday, summer turns up the heat. Expect mostly sunny skies with afternoon highs reaching mid to upper 90s both days. Overnight temperatures won’t offer much relief either, only falling into the middle 70s. If you’re spending time outdoors, plan for plenty of water, sunscreen, and frequent breaks from the heat. The hot weather sticks around for the weekend, but we’ll also see just enough moisture return to spark a few isolated afternoon and evening thunderstorms both Saturday and Sunday. Don’t expect a washout keep an eye on the sky during the hottest part of the afternoon. High temperatures will remain in the middle 90s, and with the added humidity, it’ll feel closer to 100 degrees at times. The heat looks to stick around into early next week, with daily opportunities for a few pop-up afternoon storms continuing. Stay tuned!   ...read more read less
