's pontoon boat, which was sitting idle in the water. The collision killed Svintozelskiy, who was buried on Monday, and left his 58-year-old father in a medically induced coma. Several others were also injured. The family has hired Peterson Law and Whiteford Taylor Preston."The boat, the wake boat comes this way, and the X is where he starts doing doughnuts at a very high rate of speed," Peterson said, describing the scene. "I'll express the family's sincerest appreciation to the two boats that came up to help the children and the other adults who did survive this crash."Kentucky Fish and Wildlife is investigating the crash and has released the wake boat driver's name. The driver has not been charged, so his identity is being withheld. Electronic court records show he has a history of reckless driving and speeding offenses. As the family grieves Svintozelskiy's death, Peterson said they're hoping his father recovers."He doesn't know his son is dead. Doesn't know about the funeral," Peterson said. "Our hope is that when he does wake up, he wakes up to people being held accountable for what happened and that he doesn't have to wait for that."Leigh Searcy is committed to covering the stories that matter to you.
