WASHINGTON, D.C. (WISH) — The US House of Representatives Tuesday approved a measure to enact year-round Daylight Saving Time across the country. The vote passed 308-117 with all nine Indiana representatives voting in favor. The bill will now head to the Senate for approval, but CNN is r eporting the measure faces and uncertain future in the upper chamber. Proponents argue it would spare Americans from having to change their clocks, disrupting young children’s sleep schedules and arguably causing more seasonal depression, according to a CNN report. CNN reports opponents say it could impact farmers who would have to wrestle with later sunrises, which could have an economic impact. President Donald Trump supports ending the biannual, nationwide clock adjustments. In a post on Truth Social, he cheered Tuesday’s bill, the Sunshine Protection Act. “It’s time that people can stop worrying about the ‘Clock,'” his post read. “Not to mention all of the work and money that is spent on this ridiculous, twice-yearly production. It will also be a very nice WIN for the Republican Part. Take it!” In 2022, the Senate passed a version of the Daylight Saving Time bill, but it did not get a vote on the House floor, CNN said.
