An unidentified small marine animal bit a person in the Foster City Lagoon Monday afternoon, police said. The police department said it received a report of a “marine animal bite incident” in the lagoon, near Shearwater Isle. “Based on the initial assessment, the injury is consistent wit h a bite from a small marine animal,” police said in a statement. “At this time, the exact species has not been confirmed.” Police said they were coordinating with the appropriate agencies and would provide updates if more information becomes available.
