The Park City Police Department in early July received a report of a tent in a parking lot close to the S.R. 248 entryway. The police at 7:32 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, received information about what was described as a tent at the park-and-ride lot on Richardson Flat Road. The person who conta cted the police did not see anyone near the tent. The Police Department indicated the circumstances were suspicious. In an apparently unrelated case, on Monday, July 6, at 8:27 a.m., someone was reported to be sleeping in a building on Three Kings Drive. The police logged the case as suspected vagrancy. The Police Department occasionally receives reports of suspected homelessness or people otherwise living on the land. Other incidents reported to the Police Department recently included: On Sunday, July 12, at 11:35 p.m., a police officer pulled over a driver after, according to public department logs, observing the vehicle without a license plate. The traffic stop was at the intersection of S.R. 224 and Bobsled Boulevard. The location is well outside the Park City limits. Park City officers occasionally conduct traffic stops outside the municipal boundaries. The police at 3:19 p.m. received a report of a vehicle left in what was described as a pickup lane for buses on Little Kate Road outside the Park City Municipal Athletic Recreation Center. Someone on Little Kate Road at 1:56 p.m. informed the police about “multiple complaints” regarding off-leash dogs. Public police logs classified the case as civil, rather than criminal, in nature. A hit-and-run traffic accident was reported at 12:53 p.m. outside a business in Park City. The damage occurred sometime between 10 a.m. and noon, the police were told. A vehicle fire, described as small, was reported at 12:34 p.m. in a parking lot on Lowell Avenue. A natural gas leak was reported at 9:28 a.m. on Aster Lane. A fight was reported at 6:47 a.m. on Homestake Road. Public police logs did not provide details. On Saturday, July 11, at 9:11 p.m.,  the police received a report from Snow Creek Drive, where a customer at an unspecified type of business was reported to be “heavily” intoxicated. The person was departing in a truck, the police were told. A police officer stopped a driver at 3:15 p.m. on Park Avenue after the driver, according to the department, did not yield to the right of way. The case apparently involved a left turn that nearly caused a collision. On Friday, July 10, at 10:35 p.m., the Police Department received information about a vehicle reportedly parked on grass along Deer Valley Drive. The vehicle’s engine was left idling for longer than an hour, the police were told. Nobody was inside the vehicle at the time of the report. The agency described the circumstances as suspicious. A police officer stopped a driver at 10:40 a.m. in the area of Empire Avenue and Silver King Drive after seeing a young person with their head and arms outside a window. The person was also not wearing a seatbelt as intended, the police said. Public police logs did not provide details about any enforcement action. On Thursday, July 9, at 7:53 p.m., two moose were seen along Park Avenue. The person who contacted the police indicated the animals may be readying to cross the street but were not in the road at the time of the report. On Wednesday, July 8, a wallet was reportedly taken from a bag sometime between 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., hours before the 9:52 p.m. police report. The case was logged on Sullivan Road, a small street that borders City Park. The police classified the report as a suspected theft. An elevator rescue was reported at 6:47 p.m. on Main Street. Public police logs did not provide details. A duck reportedly became “tangled in fishing line” near Deer Valley Drive and was “dragging” the line. The police received the report at 5:09 p.m. A four-vehicle accident was reported at 5:08 p.m. near the intersection of Kearns Boulevard and Bonanza Drive. The police said nobody was injured and that the accident did not block roads. The police at 2:29 a.m. received a complaint about construction on Main Street, perhaps at a restaurant. The department logged the case as suspected disturbing the peace. On Tuesday, July 7, at 3:08 p.m., a vehicle was reportedly left along Comstock Drive, blocking a driveway. A suspected drunken driving case was reported at 1:24 a.m. in the area of Kearns Boulevard and Richardson Flat Road. Public police logs did not provide details. On Monday, July 6, at 2:45 p.m., the police were told a truck driver did not stop at a brake-check area on S.R. 224 south of Old Town.
