Mason, MI – Nevyn Hengel of Sibley East High School (MN) won the crown in the final round of the USA High School Clay Target League National Championship on Sunday, July 12th. Hengel qualified 26th on Saturday with a 99, then returned Sunday and fired a perfect 100-straight — one of 16 athlet es to shoot perfect scores in the Individual Championship Round. In the shoot-off that followed, Hengel outlasted the entire field to claim the title of National Champion. Alexis Stupi of Aquinas High School (WI) earned top female honors in the nation. After qualifying 128th on Saturday, Stupi posted a 99 in Sunday’s final and edged out Nina Slingsby of Richfield High School – Academy of Holy Angels (MN) in the tiebreaker. Fall River High School (WI) captured the Team National Championship with a 485 out of 500. Fall River won by just a single target, ahead of a four-way tie at 484 that included Fort LeBoeuf High School (PA), Beaver River Central High School (NY), North Ridgeville High School (OH), and Dodgeville High School (WI). Athletes and teams representing 469 high schools from across the nation participated in the 2026 USA High School Clay Target League National Championship, held at the Michigan Trapshooting Association in Mason, MI, July 8th–12th.
