San Francisco hosts its first ever ‘One City Day'

Thousands of people participated in “One City Day,” a community event where volunteers are invited to serve San Francisco.
Multiple service projects were hosted in over 200 locations in the city, where approximately 3,500 people showed up to give back to the community.

e area looked pretty clean already, but it made sense to help.
Service activities ranged from picking up trash from the streets to making toys for shelter animals.
Mayor Daniel Lurie said that his wife, Becca, came up with the idea to start One City Day because of her commitment to volunteer work.
This event marked the first ever One City Day and has already made an impact.
“This is just a start for so many people but its also a continuation for other groups that are doing this day in and day out and now we have a new group of San Franciscans coming to support our cities rise,” Mayor Lurie said.
