Jul 11, 2026
Divers went into the Hudson River along Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood Saturday evening to rescue someone in the water.
The New York City Police and Fire Departments say they were alerted to the emergency just after 9:00 PM near the Sunset Pier 94 Studios at West 52nd St. and the
West Side Highway. A police helicopter hovered as divers went into the water in hopes of saving the victim.
Citizen App video showed numerous emergency vehicles filled the West Side Highway, also known as 12th Ave., as first responders rushed the patient from the scene, taking the person to Bellevue Hospital.
It wasn’t immediately clear how the person ended up in the water.
