WESTMINSTER, Colo. A fuel spill has forced the closure of a portion of westbound Hwy 36.According to the Westminster Fire Department, the westbound lanes are closed between Pecos Street and Federal Blvd as emergency crews respo nd to the diesel fuel spill.We are coordinating with law enforcement, working on the clean up and getting the highway back open, wrote Westminster Fire on social media.According to the Colorado State Patrol, at around 10:20 a.m., a box truck and another vehicle were involved in a hit-and-run crash. The CSP said the driver of the box truck, who was not injured, stayed on the scene.There was no other information available on the other vehicle or driver, the CSP told Denver7.Between 50 and 60 gallons of fuel leaked as a result of the crash, said the CSP, which added, it expected the westbound lanes would reopen by 3 p.m.Refresh this page for further updates. ...read more read less
