(Jeff Motz/KFOR News)LINCOLN–(KFOR July 11)–Lincoln Transportation and Utilities (LTU) Friday announced that portions of six streets will close beginning the week of July 12. The closures are as follows: 13th Street between “P” and “R” streets, and  “R” Street between 13th Street and Centennial Mall will close from 7 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday, July 12, for the Lincoln Mile. Southbound 48th Street between Superior Street and Cornhusker Highway will close Monday, July 13, for a paving project. This work is expected to be completed by the end of July. Access to businesses in the area will be maintained. The recommended detour is Superior Street to Touzalin Avenue to Fremont Street to 48th Street. StarTran Route 41-Havelock and 48-North 48th will be detoured during this work. For more information on StarTran routes and detours, visit lincoln.ne.gov/transit or call 402-476-1234. North Cotner Boulevard between 66th and 68th streets will close Monday, July 13, for utility work. This work is expected to be completed by Wednesday, July 15. Access to homes in the area will be maintained. Havelock Avenue between 84th and 98th street will be closed Monday, July 13, through Monday, July 27, for the National High School Rodeo. Vine Street between 66th and 70th streets will close Wednesday, July 15, for a Lincoln on the Move street improvement project. This work is expected to be completed by late fall 2026. The recommended detour is 66th Street to “O” Street to 70th Street. Access to homes in the area will be maintained. Residents are encouraged to sign up to receive project updates through TextLNK.
