A 75-year-old man has been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of a construction worker in the Roxborough neighborhood earlier this week, according to the Philadelphia Police Department. On Friday morning, police announced multiple charges, including murder, against George Barr. The 75- year-old is accused of shooting and killing 20-year-old Salis Hanrahan in the 400 block of Ripka Street on Wednesday, July 8. Witnesses told NBC10 the shooting happened around 2 p.m. while construction workers were installing siding on the home on Ripka Street. They said workers heard some type of argument inside the house. Police said Hanrahan walked out of the home moments later and collapsed on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the chest. He died a short time later at a nearby hospital. Barr, who was identified as the homeowner, was detained and questioned by police following the incident.
