UPDATE: July 9 at 3:30 p.m. Director of Emergency Management Drew Chandler reported on Thursday afternoon that families in the apartments above the Wilson Pool Room building on Lexington Street in Versailles have been displaced. Chandler added that one person was taken to the hospital for smoke inh alation but no additional injuries were reported. He added that one pet had died in the fire. Judge Executive James Kay reported that the five people displaced are getting services through the Red Cross, the Salvation Army, and the Woodford Foundation. As of 3:45 p.m., “the scene is stable,” Chandler added. Kay noted that fire crews continue to work the scene while Chandler added that Main Street is expected to open later Thursday evening.
