World-famous athletes and celebrities are descending on Tahoe this week for the 2026 American Century Championship golf tournament. The three-day, 54-hole competition at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course near South Lake Tahoe tees off Friday and concludes on Sunday. A couple of Bay Area sports legend s have won the tournament in recent years. Former San Jose Sharks star Joe Pavelski is the reigning champion, while Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry hoisted the trophy in 2023.
