COLUMBIA, S.C. (WOLO)– Officials with the state health department say for the second year in a row, overdose deaths are down in South Carolina.
According to the agency, in 2024, there were more than 1400 overdose deaths.
That’s down more than 31% from the previous year.

ctor Dr. Brannon Traxler says the continued decrease is a testament to the comprehensive approach public health partners have taken to address the opioid epidemic.
