Jul 07, 2026
A man is hospitalized and another is in custody after a shooting outside the GM Arlington Assembly plant on Tuesday morning.
Arlington Police said they were called to a shooting in the parking lot along Abram Street at about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Officers arrived to find a 24-year-old man with mu
ltiple apparent gunshot wounds. The man was taken to a hospital for treatment. His current condition is not known.
Arlington Police said the suspected gunman, 26-year-old Larry Hines, left the parking lot immediately after the shooting and called 911 a short time later to say he was involved. Police said Hines had been detained at an apartment complex on Viridian Village Drive and was questioned. Hines is charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
Investigators believe this is an isolated incident between people who knew each other; they believe a verbal argument escalated into the shooting. It’s unclear if the men worked for GM or if plant operations were affected. There were no additional reports of any injuries or property damage.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
