A driver who reportedly fled from Summit County Sheriff’s Office deputies was arrested in Wasatch County on Saturday. Deputies tried to stop a speeding motorcycle on S.R. 248, but the driver refused to stop and led law enforcement officials on a chase through Kamas and Francis while also commi tting other traffic violations, according to the department’s shift report. The Summit County Sheriff’s Office eventually terminated the pursuit, but the Heber City Police Department and Utah Highway Patrol later found and arrested the driver in Wasatch County. The Sheriff’s Office responded to multiple other calls between Monday, June 29, and Sunday, July 5, including a suspected DUI, stolen trailer and hit-and-run accident. Saturday, July 4 Deputies checked the license plate of a car parked at a Kamas convenience store and discovered the plate belonged to a different vehicle. They arrested the driver, who was reportedly intoxicated and possessed methamphetamine. The vehicle was impounded. Friday, July 3 Summit County Dispatch received reports of a hit-and-run incident near the Mirror Lake Diner in Kamas. Witnesses said the driver acknowledged the crash and left. Deputies found the driver, issued a citation and impounded the vehicle. Thursday, July 2 Deputies responded to the Silver Creek area after they received reports of a stolen trailer. The trailer belonged to The Home Depot and was reportedly taken overnight on Wednesday. The vehicle has been listed as stolen on a national database but had not been located as of Monday morning. Wednesday, July 1 Deputies pulled over a speeding car on S.R. 224. They arrested the driver on a suspected DUI after an investigation and booked the driver into the Summit County Jail.
