The Newcomers Club of Greater Park City will hold its Monthly Coffee and Speaker social at Park City Community Church, 4501 S.R. 224, on Wednesday, with the social starting at 9:30 a.m. and the speaker program starting at 10:15 a.m. Dr. Horn, Professor of Geology and Geophysics, will share how r ivers and glaciers formed the bedrock of Utah mountains, providing the terrain for skiing, hiking and biking. He will also include the environmental dangers of living in the Wasatch region, such as potential earthquakes and landslides. The event is free, and all are welcome. Newcomers Club was established in 1995 as a nonprofit to help all residents of Summit and Wasatch counties learn about and become involved in their community through social, educational, sporting and travel activities.
