Happy 4th of July! Today was the first time in Philadelphia’s recorded history with 3 consecutive day at or above 101°. Records date back to 1873! After another dangerously hot and humid day, prepare for scattered storms — some of which will be severe. Storms will provide damaging wind g usts, hail and frequent lightning. Temperatures will also remain hot on Saturday evening into Sunday morning, with a low of 77 degrees in Philadelphia. With Philadelphia hitting 101° today, that marks three straight days of 101° or higher. That is the first time that has ever happened with records going back to 1873. #PAwx— NWS Mount Holly (@NWS_MountHolly) July 4, 2026 This story uses functionality that may not work in our app. Click here to open the story in your web browser. ...read more read less
