Children’s Choir Shares Love Of Music On Tour In Spain
Jul 02, 2026
The Fort Wayne Children’s Choir took their music across the Atlantic as they embarked on a 10-day cultural and performance tour of Spain, June 22–July 1, 2026.
The tour brought singers to some of Spain’s most celebrated cities, including Barcelona, Valencia, Madrid, and Toledo, where th
ey experienced the country’s rich history, architecture, traditions, and musical heritage while serving as cultural ambassadors for Northeast Indiana.
Throughout the journey, choir members performed for international audiences, including an exchange concert with the Galarda Choir in Valencia and a featured performance at Basilica San Miguel in Madrid and Barcelona’s iconic Sagrada Família.
For many singers, the tour represented far more than a travel experience. It was an opportunity to build friendships across cultures, discover new perspectives, and create memories that will last a lifetime.
“One of the most powerful aspects of music is its ability to bring people together,” said Jonathan Busarow, Executive Artistic Director of the Fort Wayne Children’s Choir. “Even when people speak different languages, music allows us to communicate, connect, and share something meaningful. We are excited our singers got to experience firsthand how music unites people around the world.”
International tours have long been a cherished part of the Fort Wayne Children’s Choir experience, offering young musicians opportunities for artistic growth, cultural understanding, and personal development. Through performances, shared experiences, and meaningful interactions with local communities, singers gain a deeper appreciation for both the diversity and common humanity found throughout the world.
The Fort Wayne Children’s Choir teaches music literacy to children from diverse backgrounds through song and performance, offering programming for children ages 0-18. The Fort Wayne Children’s Choir is proud to represent 78 different schools in addition to 45 homeschoolers from 33 zip codes in northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio counties.
