Coast Guard details safety plan for July Fourth Golden Gate Bridge fireworks show
Jul 02, 2026
The United States Coast Guard on Thursday outlined its plans for keeping people safe during the July Fourth fireworks show at the Golden Gate Bridge.
“We fully anticipate to have a large crowd, both onshore and on the water,” U.S. Coast Guard Capt. Jared Toczko said. “This is an opportunity
to see a fantastic fireworks display and with that we expect crowds to gather. Obviously, as vessels are positioning to witness the show, we ask that they abide by those safety zones.”
The safety zones include the Golden Gate Bridge, the fireworks barge display east of the bridge and the barge display near Pier 39.
“These zones are designated to keep all recreational and commercial vessels at a safe distance from the fireworks operations and to provide a clear lane for emergency response, if needed,” U.S. Coast Guard Lt. Cmdr. Eddie Kalankiewicz said.
Drones will be banned over the firework venues and surrounding waterfront.
