Pumped Up in Park City
Jul 02, 2026
While ample outdoor recreation is an obvious draw to the Wasatch Back, the region’s mountain lifestyle has helped evolve indoor fitness options to help the community stay active year-round.
In Summit and Wasatch counties, there are public recreation facilities that double as community gatherin
g spots, plus boutique studios specializing in strength and mobility, yoga and pilates, and other specialized offerings.
Many of the fitness and recreation centers on the Wasatch Back feature structured workouts and fully equipped gym spaces with a special focus on functional fitness and recovery tailored to the activities residents are known to enjoy: hiking, biking, and skiing. Heber Valley, in particular, offers accessible, practical, family-friendly options.
If it’s too hot, rainy, or you’re simply looking for a new way to enjoy your mountain lifestyle, the Wasatch Back has an impressive number of facilities that can enhance your summer. From fitness facilities and lap pools to pickleball courts, there’s something to bring everyone off the mountain.
