After six weeks of work, the bridge over Stevens Creek along Havelock Avenue between 84th and 98th Streets reopened on Tuesday, June 30, 2026. (Jeff Motz/KFOR News)LINCOLN–(KFOR June 30)–Havelock Avenue is back open between 84th and 98th Street in the northeast corner of Lincoln, after the K-14 4 bridge was shutdown for rehab work. Lancaster County Engineer Pam Dingman on Tuesday afternoon told KFOR News and other reporters the project included repairs to the bridge deck and underlying concrete structure. Work started on April 27 and was completed before Tuesday’s deadline. Barricades were removed around 2pm Tuesday for open traffic. The completion of the project comes just weeks ahead of the National Finals of High School Rodeo that will take place at the nearby Sandhills Global Event Center. General Excavating did milling work to the bridge deck, removed deteriorated concrete and put on a new overlay and rebuilding damage sections underneath.
