Authorities are seeking a food delivery driver who became embroiled in an argument with an Amazon staffer and fatally shot the 26-year-old worker early Monday in Matteson, officials said. The incident unfolded shortly after midnight in an employee parking lot outside 7001 S. Vollmer Rd., an Amazon f ulfillment center that is open 24-hours, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office and a village spokesperson. The driver and the worker began arguing and the driver shot three or four times, leaving the 26-year-old staffer dead, according to officials and the medical examiner's office. The shooter fled the scene and there were no witnesses, but a camera without sound captured the shooting, the spokesperson said. No one else was hurt and it was not clear if the 26-year-old was robbed. Though the attacker, for which a description was not given, is not in custody, the spokesperson said there was "no immediate threat to the area."An Amazon representative could not be reached immediately.This is a developing story.
