(WOWO) Fort Wayne is preparing for a full day of Independence Day celebrations, with events scheduled throughout the city ranging from patriotic ceremonies and family activities to live music, baseball, and fireworks. The city’s July 4 festivities are centered around downtown Fort Wayne, with several locations offering prime viewing opportunities for the annual fireworks display later in the evening. Downtown parade starts the celebration The annual Fourth of July Parade is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. in downtown Fort Wayne. The parade will travel along South Calhoun Street and feature community organizations, local families, patriotic displays, and special recognition of America’s upcoming 250th anniversary celebration. Historic Old Fort hosts patriotic programming Following the parade, visitors can head to the Historic Old Fort beginning at 11 a.m. for America’s 250th Celebration.
