In San Francisco, tens of thousands of people packed the Pride Parade route Sunday.
The Pride celebration kicked off with the 56th annual Pride Parade, one of the largest and most legendary LGBTQ+ celebrations in the world.
About 25,000 people participated in the 1.6-mile route from the Embarc

“This is exactly what it means. All of us being here together, always supporting our own community, the LGBT community, which I am a part of. So proud to be here and to always continue to show support”, Theo said.
The theme of this year’s celebration. “Resistance In Action”, comes at a time when many say their rights are under attack.
Many in the parade holding signs condemning Trump administration policies. San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie, State Senator Alex Padilla, and Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi, promised San Francisco will resist as long as there is a threat to anyone.
“We don’t agonize; we organize. This year, the anniversary of our country, we will pay tribute to the LGBTQ community for being so strong in resistance. Resistance is our hope”, Pelosi said.
“We know that civil rights, including LGBTQ, are under attack by this administration”, Padilla said.
Senator Scott Weiner made an appearance, surrounded by his security detail after being surrounded and heckled by protestors Friday night.
Pride Faithfully say they’ll always show their joy proudly.
