Police in Philadelphia are investigating after two teenagers were shot in the leg in North Philly on Thursday night. Léelo en español aquí Officers were first called to the 2400 block of West Cambria Street around 7:12 p.m. on June 25 after the sounds of a fight and of gunfire were reported , officials said. When the officers got to the scene, Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small said they found a 16-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. The boy was taken to a nearby hospital where his condition is not known. No arrests have been made yet but officials said that the suspected gunman was described as wearing all dark clothing and blue surgical gloves. Then, just after 9 p.m. officers were called to the area of North 26th Street and Allegheny Avenue after a 911 caller reported gunshots, according to Chief Inspector Small. When officers got there, they said they found a 17-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was placed in stable condition. Detectives have uncovered that the shooter exited a property on the 3200 block of North 25th Street around the time of the shooting. Inspector Small explained that officers were able to get the people inside the property to come out and are questioning them as part of the investigation. The Philadelphia Police Department’s Shooting Investigation Group is investigating and officials are looking to see if these two shootings are connected.
