An investigation is ongoing, according to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office, after a 9-year-old boy died this week after being involved in a drowning incident that happened at a motel pool on Saturday, June 20, 2026. According to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office, the boy was pronounced at 3:51 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, after being taken to the hospital following the June 20, 2026 incident. The incident happened at about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the hotel pool at the Days Inn by Wyndham on Hill Motor Lodge Road in Pocono Township in Monroe County. At that time, the coroner’s office said, the boy was pulled from the pool and life-saving measures were administrated before the boy was taken to the hospital. However, officials said, the boy succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday, June 23, 2026. Following an autopsy on Thursday, the coroner’s office said the boy’s death was caused by complications due to drowning and it has been ruled an accident.
