The IBEW Local Union 614 — which represents PECO’s linemen, gas technicians, mechanics, call center workers, and back office workers — said they will announce details of their impending strike on Thursday, June 26, at 11 a.m. “The strike comes after PECO management has failed to offer serious counter proposals on key bargaining issues, including wages and benefits, despite months of negotiations and nearly three months since the union’s contract expired,” the union said in a press release. PECO’s union employees have been working without a contract since March 31, 2026, when its previous contract with PECO expired. The strike would be the first work stoppage in PECO’s history.
