A Bay Area space company celebrated the opening of a new facility Monday, bringing both satellites and new jobs to the region. Startup Muon Space officially opened a 130,000-square-foot satellite manufacturing facility in San Jose. The company’s satellites will track everything from weather and national security to Bluetooth devices. On the heels of SpaceX hitting a $2 trillion valuation on IPO day, Muon Space, flush with venture capital funding, has decided to make its move in the industry.
