A fire destroyed five RVs at the Sun Retreats RV Park in Barnegat, New Jersey, on Saturday, the Barnegat Volunteer Fire Company Station 11 said in a social media post. Fire crews began responding to the fire at around 11:19 a.m. on June 20, officials said. Initially, only the Barnegat Volunteer Fire Company responded to the fire, but it was quickly elevated to a fire that required further assistance. Fire and EMS squads from surrounding municipalities joined in the fire fight, including the New Jersey State Forest Fire Service, which played a critical role in stopping the fire from spreading further into the wooded areas that surrounded the RVs, officials said.
