CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have made an arrest after a deadly stabbing in Uptown Charlotte last week. 51-year-old David Lawrence is charged with murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon. Investigators say Lawrence stabbed 27-year-old Said Altabtabae to death on June 10th, on South Sycamore Green Place, off West Trade Street. Warrants say police used cameras and facial recognition software to identify and track down Lawrence. The cameras show Altabtabae picking up Lawrence at an Econolodge on Glenwood Drive before the murder.
