David W. Carter High School High School collegiate ambassador and cheerleader Nikirra J. will attend Texas AM University-Commerce this fall to major in business administration and minor in music. The decorated vocalist, who earned top state UIL solo honors and began singing at Umphrey Lee Elementary School, credits her time in choir for shaping her character and teaching her the power of teamwork. Backed by her family’s deep musical roots and her mother’s steadfast support, Nikirra hopes her legacy inspires future students to always give their best to strengthen the whole team.
