At 2:28 a.m. on Thursday, the National Weather Service released an updated wind advisory valid between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. for St. Lawrence, Franklin, Clinton and Essex counties."South winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts between 45 and 55 mph expected," comments the weather service. "The strongest winds wil l be between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., especially in the northern Champlain Valley and northern slopes of the Adirondacks, with another round of strong winds in northern New York between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Fully leafed out trees will result in more tree damage than with similar wind speeds during the colder months of the year." ...read more read less
