Maryland early voting turnout pales in comparison to ballots cast during presidential election

Maryland voters have just two more days to cast an early ballot before the June 23 primary election, and turnout has been sparse compared to 2024.
Without a presidential candidate on the ticket, lower turnout is expected in a midterm year.
According to data from the Maryland State Board
of Elections, as of Monday, only 2.26% of eligible voters have submitted a ballot during the early voting period.
