An afternoon fire in Taylor County destroyed a barn near a home on Old Columbia Road Monday, the Taylor County Fire Department reports.According to the agency, crews responded to the 4400 block around 4:30 p.m. When they arrived , they found a barn completely engulfed in flames, with the blaze dangerously close to a home.Crews worked to get the fire under control and the home suffered minor damage as a result.
