Rep. Sam Liccardo Monday is set to call for federal assistance to help repair the deteriorating Pacifica Pier. Emergency work is ongoing to prevent the pier from collapsing into the ocean after major cracks formed more than a week ago and continued to worsen. Crews have already demolished a po pular cafe that was located on the pier, and construction work is underway to help stabilize the area. According to Liccardo’s office, the congressman will ask the Trump administration for funding to support repairs.
