A young person has died after being struck by a vehicle in Dallas early Saturday morning. Dallas police responded to a major accident on the freeway in the 8100 block of northbound Julius Schepps Freeway at approximately 10:24 a.m. Preliminary investigations led officers to believe that two v ehicles were involved in the crash, but it was later revealed that the crash was actually an auto-pedestrian accident. Two vehicles were involved, but further investigation showed that the juvenile passenger was struck after exiting one of the vehicles. That initial vehicle was stopped in the northbound left lane. The second vehicle, an SUV, was approaching the stopped vehicle from behind and struck the juvenile when the driver attempted to avoid the vehicle stopped in the roadway. After hitting the juvenile, the SUV spun out and rolled over. The juvenile was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but unfortunately succumbed to injuries and died. Authorities have not released the official age of the crash victim. The SUV driver was taken to the hospital in stable condition after talking to authorities at the scene of the crash.
