State police seek help in theft of fully packed Amazon tractor trailer in Pa.
Jun 12, 2026
Pennsylvania State Police are asking for the public’s help as they investigate the theft of a fully loaded Amazon tractor trailer that disappeared after a breakdown in Bucks County.
According to investigators, the incident began May 22 when a driver working for Amazon experienced a breakdown al
ong the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Bensalem. The truck was towed for repairs, but the trailer — which was filled with packages awaiting delivery — did not remain where it was left.
State police said the trailer was stolen on May 24.
The investigation took another turn June 11 when Amazon used GPS data to help locate the trailer in Slatington, Lehigh County.
The discovery has raised new questions for investigators, including who stole the trailer and why it was ultimately abandoned.
State police identified the trailer as a 2019 blue Vanguard National Trailer Corp. trailer bearing the Amazon logo and registration number V39752.
Investigators are asking anyone who may have seen the trailer traveling between May 22 and May 24 to come forward. Troopers are also interested in hearing from anyone who may have information about who stole the trailer or who may have left it in Slatington.
State police said the theft may not have been an isolated incident and could be connected to a larger cargo theft operation.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Pennsylvania State Police.
