A Delaware motorcyclist is accused of pointing a gun at students on a school bus after one of the teens sprayed him with a water gun.
The incident occurred on June 9, 2026, investigators said. Students from Polytech High School were traveling on a school bus on Peachtree Run near Millchop Lane in
Magnolia, Delaware. At the same time, 62-year-old Charles McCombs of Magnolia was riding a motorcycle next to the bus when a student on board sprayed water at him from a water gun, investigators said.
McCombs then yelled at the students, pulled out a gun and pointed it at the school bus as it drove away, according to police.
Later that night, school administrators notified Polytech High School’s Resource Officer of a cellphone video that captured the incident and an investigation was launched. Police identified McCombs as the suspect and a warrant was obtained for his arrest.
McCombs was taken into custody by Delaware State Police on June 11. He is charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and aggravated menacing.
McCombs was arraigned and committed to Sussex Correctional Institutional on a $48,000 secured bond.
