More than 20 shots were fired in a shooting late Thursday that left a man hospitalized in critical condition, police say. According to Chief Inspector Scott Small of the Philadelphia Police Department, a man was shot in the stomach in an incident that happened at about 10 p.m. on Thursday along the 1300 block of Price Street in Philly’s East Germantown section. The victim, he said, was taken to a nearby hospital where they were listed in critical condition. At the scene, Small said, police investigators collected over 20 spent shell casings and a magazine loaded with ammunition. However, police did not immediately know additional identifying details about the victim, and Small said investigators did not immediately determine a motive or identify any suspects in this incident. But, he said surveillance cameras at the scene may have captured the incident. Investigators were in the middle of reviewing that footage as of about 1:30 a.m. on Friday. An investigation into this incident, he said, was ongoing. There are additional resources for people or communities that have endured gun violence in Philadelphia. Further information can be found here. ...read more read less
